TRAINEE PERFUMER

Dietlikon, Switzerland

In the course of further expansion and based on the company's strategy of sustainable, responsible, qualitative and quantitative growth, we are offering a position at our headquarters in Dietlikon as a trainee perfumer.

In your training program, you will…

  • Learn the basics of perfumery. In particular, you will learn in detail the most important raw materials and how to use them skillfully and efficiently in your formulations.

  • Enjoy a broad range of professional training and build knowledge in various applications, e.g. in fine fragrances (mass to niche), oriental perfumery, personal care products as well as in certain applications in the home care sector.

  • Get to know the general interactions and working practices in a fragrance house - e.g. the role and activities of the FDM team, the Analytical Perfumery, Marketing, Sales, but also Production.

  • Learn the basics of the regulatory framework and the regulatory challenges of projects for specific regions, under specific labels, or for specific applications and customers.

  • During your training, you will work with Alain Alchenberger who will be your main contact as your mentor. In the second part of your training, you will additionally and depending on the subject work with other senior perfumers.

The training program will last approximately 36 months, but can be shortened or extended depending on your needs and progress and in agreement with your mentor. Upon completion of the training program, you will have a good and broad base of knowledge and will get a promotion to a Junior Perfumer. As such, you will continue to work for LUZI and you will participate independently and actively in briefings of various customers from different global regions and further deepen your expertise.

What qualifies you:

  • A great passion for fragrances and the willingness to go the extra mile at any time to become a successful perfumer.

  • An excellent nose and excellent memorization skills.

  • Great analytical and at the same time creative skills.

  • Experience in perfumery; a completed training at the ISIPCA, at the Ecole Supérieure du Parfum or at a comparable institution is an advantage.

  • Experience in the chemical industry and/or completed chemical training are an advantage.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Independent, structured and proactive way of working.

  • A Flexible and a service-oriented attitude.

  • Fluency in English and/or German; any other language is a plus.
