1926

Founding by namesake
Hermann Luzi

Hermann Luzi founds a business for commercial trade in perfume compounds, essential oils and colours that is to become the cornerstone for the company’s long-standing success story.

1952

Altenburger family acquires
all shares

Eduard Altenburger takes over the entire share capital of LUZI AG. Already during the Second World War, the perfumer from Zurich supports the fragrance business by replacing the suspended deliveries from German suppliers with his own fragrance blends. This was the start of a success story. In 1969, the company moves to a new headquarters and production facility in Dietlikon, near Zurich Airport.

1999

Expansion & internationalisation
with Jürg Koller as Global CEO

Jürg Koller takes over as Global CEO and expands into new markets such as the Middle and Far East, as well as Latin America. The company opens sales offices in the Dominican Republic, Germany, as well as in Belarus, Azerbaijan, Dubai and, most recently, Ivory Coast. To promote creativity, LUZI opens a creative laboratory in Paris.

2016

Opening of LUZI Malaysia

​LUZI opens a subsidiary in Malaysia with a state-of-the-art production facility, development labs and a sales unit. LUZI Malaysia is located in the sustainable industrial area i-Park Kulai, Johor, which is an hour away from Singapore.

2018

Passing the baton to the third generation

LUZI is handed over to the third generation of the Altenburger family. Co-owner Roland Altenburger (right) is appointed CEO Switzerland alongside Global CEO Jürg Koller (left).

2022

New headquarter in Switzerland

LUZI moves into a new building on an 11’000 square meter site in Dietlikon, Zurich. This is LUZI's commitment to Switzerland as a location, where it is setting new standards with innovative building technology and state-of-the-art production facilities.
