OUR COMPANY

We are a family-owned company in the third generation. Founded in 1926 by Hermann Luzi, our company started with the prime objective of producing unique and innovative fragrances for industries as personal care and detergents. After years of success the company was taken over in 1952 by Eduard Altenburger. Since then, the Altenburger family runs the company to fullest success.

Highly creative, we master the craftsmanship of perfumery to create modern, top-quality fragrances for a demanding clientele serving many categories as fine fragrance, cosmetics, household and industrial products. We offer creative solutions and effective products, along exclusive turnkey manufacture and customer support, taking prime care of our long-standing partnerships.

Corporate responsibility is at our core and the newly inaugurated headquarters perfectly reflect this approach of paramount importance to us.

1926

Founding by namesake
Hermann Luzi

Hermann Luzi founds a business for commercial trade in perfume compounds, essential oils and colours that is to become the cornerstone for the company’s long-standing success story.

1952

Altenburger family acquires
all shares

Eduard Altenburger takes over the entire share capital of LUZI AG. Already during the Second World War, the perfumer from Zurich supports the fragrance business by replacing the suspended deliveries from German suppliers with his own fragrance blends. This was the start of a success story. In 1969, the company moves to a new headquarters and production facility in Dietlikon, near Zurich Airport.

2016

Opening of LUZI Malaysia

​LUZI opens a subsidiary in Malaysia with a state-of-the-art production facility, development labs and a sales unit. LUZI Malaysia is located in the sustainable industrial area i-Park Kulai, Johor, which is an hour away from Singapore.

2022

New headquarter in Switzerland

LUZI moves into a new building on an 11’000 square meter site in Dietlikon, Zurich. This is LUZI's commitment to Switzerland as a location, where it is setting new standards with innovative building technology and state-of-the-art production facilities.

Expansion & internationalisation
with Jürg Koller as Global CEO

Jürg Koller takes over as Global CEO and expands into new markets such as the Middle and Far East, as well as Latin America. The company opens sales offices in the Dominican Republic, Germany, as well as in Belarus, Azerbaijan and, most recently, Dubai. To promote creativity, LUZI opens a creative laboratory in Paris.

Passing the baton to the third generation

LUZI is handed over to the third generation of the Altenburger family. Co-owner Roland Altenburger (right) is appointed CEO Switzerland alongside Global CEO Jürg Koller (left).

Roland Altenburger becomes CEO
Marc Vogel becomes COO

After many instructive years and outstanding leadership as CEO of LUZI Switzerland, Roland Altenburger (right on the picture) is stepping into the role of Global CEO. He will be supported on the Executive Board by Marc Vogel (left on the picture), who is taking on the role of COO after more than 20 years at LUZI.
